This series was inspired by the intricate storytelling style of Indian artist Ramesh Gorjala and my lifelong connection to the stories, history, and cultural traditions I grew up with. Each painting combines contemporary portraiture with historical and cultural references, including scenes and figures from the Ramayana. I was drawn to the idea of weaving together the past and present — placing familiar stories alongside modern faces to explore how history continues to influence identity, values, and memory. The decorative patterns and layered imagery invite viewers to look closely and discover new details over time.
